2017 Howard County Fair Contestant Information:

• Start time: 7:00pm

• Location: Howard County Fairgrounds, Exit 80 on MD I-70 in West Friendship. Follow Rodeo Signs to Fairgrounds

• Parking: Follow Rodeo Contestants Parking Only Signs (DO NOT PARK IN UNDESIGNATED LOT) Contestant Parking will be located on both sides of the Main Drive (on the right is closer, but not very level – on the left is level but 100 yards further). Either side is OK to fill in side-by-side so everyone has plenty of room. Thank You in advance!

• Fuel: Trucks with trailers traveling East or West, seeking diesel fuel or gas should use Exit 76 onto 97 South, through the traffic light at 144, approx. 1 mile to the Highs fuel Stop which can accommodate Trucks and Trailers. Vehicles without trailers, seeking diesel or gas can access the Highs fuel stop at Exit 80 in route to fairgrounds.

• Food: Contestants will enjoy chuck wagon breakfasts Monday and Tuesday morning at 8am. Contestants will enjoy a plethora of food in the Cowboy Hospitality Corral  throughout the few days of  the Rodeo supplied and donated by Rockin R and various rodeo supporters.

• Check out the flagged local business on the map below that may be helpful regarding fuel, food, beer, tobacco, etc.

• Buckles to each event average Champion after both performances including All-Around – Header and Heeler.

• Please be cordial to all Fair Personnel… you never know if you are speaking to a Fair Board Member, Shareholder or Family Member.

• NO OPEN ALCOHOL IN PARKING AREA (keep it to the trailers).

• NO Dog’s allowed inside Fairgrounds parameter (must stay in the trailer) – Insurance issue!

• NO PROFANITY AND/OR VULGAR PUBLIC DISPLAYS WILL BE TOLERATED.

• All Contestants must be in western attire at least 1 hour prior to Rodeo start – UNLESS you plan to be inside the arena after Public Gates are open at 5pm. If so, full Rodeo attire must be worn inside the arena.

• Rodeo winners MUST take an immediate victory lap following their event.

• IF ASKED to sign autographs, please sacrifice a small amount of your time in order to help promote yourself and your sport Rodeo. Event Winners will be required to sign autographs after each performance, but all Contestants may take part at a predetermined, designated location. Meet Rockin’ R marketing personnel at Secretary/Announcers Stand following bull riding. The object is to arrive at the autograph location before the fans exit the venue. Sharpies will be provided.
